Flick calls up a newcomer – Gündogan back

Federal coach Hansi Flick has announced his squad for the final two international matches of the calendar year – including one newcomer and five returnees.

Two international matches are still to be played in the qualifiers before the start of the 2022 World Cup year: On 11 November, the DFB team will face Liechtenstein in Wolfsburg, before concluding their Group J campaign in Armenia on 14 November.

The 27-player squad for the two matches was announced on Friday by national coach Hansi Flick, who started his tenure with five wins in five matches. It includes one newcomer and five returnees.

Hansi Flick called up attacker Lukas Nmecha from VfL Wolfsburg for the national team for the first time. In addition, Julian Draxler of Paris Saint-Germain, Julian Brandt of Borussia Dortmund, Christian Günter of SC Freiburg, Ilkay Gündogan of Manchester City and Kevin Trapp of Eintracht Frankfurt return.
