Charlotte Flair and fellow wrestler Andrade El Idolo have completed their wedding in Mexico – an unmasked Rey Mysterio is among the guests.
In the ring, she’s WWE’s now most decorated wrestler of all time – now her private happiness is complete too.
Charlotte Flair and her former WWE colleague Andrade El Idolo, now active with competitor AEW, got married on Friday in Andrade’s Mexican home.
Among the guests were Charlotte’s father Ric Flair (who is about to return to the ring at 73), former Nia Jax and ex-rival Rey Mysterio, who Andrade admires – the 47-year-old had his photo taken without a mask, which is not a matter of course for Mexican wrestlers at public events.
Mysterio – who is also linked to Andrade through his devotion to his friend Eddie Guerrero, who died at an early age – has softened the tradition of the “luchadors” anyway by putting his mask back on for his WWE career after previously losing it in rival WCW, a break with Mexican wrestling mores.
Charlotte Flair and Andrade engaged since early 2020.
Flair, 36, and Andrade, four years younger, have been a couple since 2019 and engaged since early 2020; an apparent breakup ended reconciliatory, and the two have been showing up together again since late 2021.
Twelve-time RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion Flair is the third WWE wrestler to marry this year, following Carmella (with commentator Corey Graves) and Alexa Bliss (with singer Ryan Cabrera). It is her second marriage after splitting from wrestler Thomas “Bram” Latimer before her WWE breakthrough.
In WWE, Flair lost her SmackDown title to Ronda Rousey last month, after which she was written out of the programme with an alleged broken arm.
