The German eNationalmannschaft will compete in the second week of the FIFAe Nations Series Play-Ins on Thursday and Friday – the Play-offs remain the goal.
The DFB team had a successful start to the FIFAe Nations Series Play-Ins in December, finishing the first week of play in second place in the first division. Relegation was thus avoided in a commanding manner, and the eNationalmannschaft will once again be competing in Division One in the second match week – against three new opponents.
Belgium, Romania and Finland were relegated to Division Two of the second European Conference in December. Bulgaria, Scotland and Spain moved up from the lower house in their place – the Iberians in particular are likely to be a challenge. Alongside Germany, Sweden, Portugal, Italy and Russia remain in Division One.
Germany with personnel rotation
While the first week of play was still contested by Umut ‘Umut’ Gültekin and Mustafa ‘xMusti19’ Cankal, the DFB will rotate for week two: Dylan ‘DullenMIKE’ Neuhausen and Kai ‘Hensoo’ Hense are expected to ensure that Germany remain in Division One once again. The German duo will start against Bulgaria on Thursday at 5 pm.
Three more games await the eNational team on the first day of this match week: ‘DullenMIKE’ and ‘Hensoo’ will face Spain and Scotland, the other two newcomers to the division, as well as Russia. Only on Friday will the DFB doubles have to hold their own in the tough duels against Portugal, Italy and Sweden.
Decision not until week four
No decisions have been made yet in the second week of the Play-Ins, with the final standings only being settled after week four. The two strongest teams of the European Conferences or first divisions will then move directly into the play-offs. Germany is one of the favourites, but had to admit defeat to Portugal and Finland in the first week.
