Technical problems and bugs occurred almost weekly in FIFA 22. Also in FIFA 23 the bug devil is already spreading before release.
EA SPORTS and the bloopers – it remains a never ending story. After there were already numerous inconsistencies in FIFA 22, FIFA 23 seamlessly continues the chain of errors. And this although the game has not even been released yet.
How can that be? A few weeks ago the game was already available for some Xbox users due to a mistake of the publisher – a huge leak with the publication of player values followed. In the meantime, the web app of the latest FIFA from EA SPORTS is accessible. In it, players can open first packs, access the in-game transfer market and complete Squad Building Challenges (SBCs).
New chemistry system SBC-damaging?
Even the morning after the web app was released, however, technical problems made it temporarily impossible for players to access it. The EA account used was not linked to a FUT club, and players first had to log into FUT on a console or PC in FIFA 23 in order to use the web app, the announcement said regarding the problem, which has since been fixed.
But that is not all. In the web app, which is now available again, users were eager to get hold of some useful packs through SBCs and stumbled directly over the next problem: the new chemistry system and the SBC requirements. Two requirements of the “starting eleven” SBC are currently as follows: “Exactly two chemistry points for each player” and “At least 27 total chemistry points”. A direct contradiction that currently makes the SBC unsolvable, since with exactly two chemistry points per player and eleven players, there are only 22 total chemistry points to be achieved.
Untradeable rewards make puzzle work less attractive
Generally, the revised chemistry in the context of SBCs is met with criticism from the player community. This is because under current conditions, only players who are used in their position contribute to the chemistry. Fielding a defensive midfielder in central midfield to collect chemistry is not possible. This makes the puzzle challenges much more difficult.
Last but not least, EA SPORTS has also decided to tone down the rewards for the SBCs. Although there are still the same packs as in the predecessor, in FIFA 23 they are not tradeable. A trade with unusable cards from the packs is therefore not possible, a potential coin profit is omitted. So whether it is currently worth investing time in SBCs in the web app can be doubted.
