Since Xbox players were able to play FIFA 23 in advance, presumed club and player ratings are already in circulation. Especially under discussion: Cristiano Ronaldo’s ratings.
When the teams are built up at the start of FIFA in Ultimate Team, one card is often at the top of the wish list: Cristiano Ronaldo. In the new part, however, that could change.
At the beginning of the week, Xbox players were already able to accidentally play FIFA 23. Since then, many screenshots of club and player values have been circulating. When asked by eSport, EA SPORTS confirmed the incident:
“On Tuesday, we accidentally gave a small number of players access to a two-hour trial of the Xbox One version of FIFA 23, which wasn’t due to be available for a couple of weeks.” In terms of values, however, the publisher qualifies: “Not all content was final. “
City rivals more attractive in FUT?
Therefore it remains to be seen until the FIFA release if this is what the Top 40 in Ultimate Team looks like or if these are the final values of Bayern. Cristiano Ronaldo’s gold card is the subject of much discussion, because it would be downgraded in a particularly meta-relevant place.
The Portuguese’s speed would drop by a whopping six points. While it was 87 points in FIFA 22, it would only be 81 in FIFA 23.
The consequence: the Ronaldo gold card would probably no longer be an object of desire. Players like Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (89 speed according to leaks) or Paris St. Germain’s Kylian Mbappé (97 speed according to leaks) would then probably be much more attractive.
But not only that. Cristiano Ronaldo’s passing would also drop quite a bit – from 82 to 78 overall. His dribbling would be three points lower (88 to 85), and his shooting would be one point worse. Physique and defense would remain the same.
Age or crisis?
Causes for these devaluations can be found – in the case of pace, it could indeed be age. In February of next year, the centre forward will be 38 years old. A not untypical devaluation in this respect – those who play the career mode already know this.
The sporting situation could also contribute something to the rating. His club, Manchester United, fell far short of expectations last year, finishing only sixth in the league. CR7 was able to contribute 18 goals in 30 games, but did not match his best performances.
He has been luckless in five games so far this season, coming off the bench in most cases. Much more in the spotlight have been his transfer requests – he failed to find a new club at the end of the transfer window. With the FIFA23 ratings, he would therefore no longer be at the top of the wish lists, not only in real life but also in the game.
