FIFA 22: ‘Anders’ turns 16 – and is allowed to compete officially

Anders ‘Anders’ Vejrgang celebrates his 16th birthday in January and is allowed to participate in official FIFA 22 tournaments, on which stage will he debut?

In other eSports titles, 14-year-olds already become world champions, in FIFA the youngsters have to wait until their 16th birthday before they are allowed to prove their quality in official competitions.

‘Anders’ doesn’t have much left to prove, at most consistency over a longer period of time. The Dane from RB Leipzig has been too dominant in recent months.

The still 15-year-old recorded several triumphs at Eligella Cups, Blacki Cups and other unofficial tournaments in the outgoing year. The focus, however, was of course on his record in the Weekend League:

In FIFA 21, he remained unbeaten for 17 weeks, with ‘Anders’ achieving 536 consecutive victories by mid-February – a record that could well be destined for eternity.

Deadline on 26 January 2022
The public pounced on the FIFA prodigy who seemingly effortlessly dominated the scene. Shortly after his great success in the second Regional Cup as part of the Global Series, Vejrgang also beat top player Dylan ‘DullenMIKE’ Neuhausen 9-1 – a demonstration of superiority. For most experts it is only a matter of time until ‘Anders’ officially climbs to the top of the world.

He may begin his ascent on 26 January 2022, the day he turns 16. After that, he can participate and qualify for all EA events, and he could celebrate his big premiere on the same day: RB Leipzig will face FC Ingolstadt 04 in the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL) Club Championship by bevestor on 26 January.

Debut gift for the summit meeting?

Although there are still two matchdays to go before this encounter, there are many indications that the duel between the “Red Bulls” and the “Schanzers” will be the summit meeting.

Ingolstadt currently occupy first place in the South-East Division with 63 points, Leipzig follow just one point behind – but the cushion on third place is already ten points.

A match-up with a potentially decisive character in the title fight of the south-east division would certainly be an appropriate stage for the ‘Anders’ debut.

However, it is at least questionable whether the Saxons will break the successful duo of Umut ‘RBLZ_UMUT’ Gültekin and Richard ‘RBLZ_GAUCHO’ Hormes, especially for such an important encounter.

Favourites for the following season at the latest

The fact that ‘Anders’ will still compete in the VBL Club Championship this season suggests his nomination to the official squad alone – after all, this had to be registered well before his 16th birthday.

Vejrgang could also compete in the VBL Individual Championship this season, with two months left for him to qualify for the playoffs via the VBL Open.

Internationally, the top talent could again attract attention in regional qualifiers, but there is probably not enough time for the big leap to FIFAe World Cup & Co. After all, almost half of the competitive FIFA 22 season will have been completed by the end of January.

But even if ‘Anders’ doesn’t pull up any more trees in the current edition, the Dane will be one of the favourites in the following season at the latest.
