Technology giant HP will be represented in the team name and on Ferrari’s cars from Miami – The racing team will also benefit from HP services
New title sponsor and team name at Ferrari: The Scuderia has signed a long-term contract with the American technology giant Hewlett Packard, HP for short, for “several years”. As the new title partner, it will also be part of the Scuderia Ferrari HP team name in future.
The technology company and its distinctive blue logo will feature on Ferrari’s Formula 1 livery and on the team’s shirts and overalls from the Miami Grand Prix next week.
The agreement on the new title branding will not only extend to Formula 1, but also to Ferrari’s F1 Academy and Esports programs.
“Our founder has passed on to us his constant desire for progress. This has resulted in our pursuit of innovation on the road and on the track, as well as our commitment to a sustainable future, from carbon neutrality to the education of the younger generation,” says Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna.
“In HP, we have found the same values that make the company an ideal partner. We look forward to starting our collaboration and facing new opportunities and challenges together.”
Vigna’s counterpart at HP, Enrique Lores, explains: “With technology, performance and exceptional craftsmanship driving the future, the partnership between HP and Ferrari is a natural fit. Both brands have a rich history that has withstood the test of time.”
“Through this unique collaboration, we also have the opportunity to reach new audiences, drive business growth and create lasting impact for our shared customers and communities.”
In addition to the branding deal, HP will also provide Ferrari with its services – from computers, printers and other hardware to conferencing technology.
The HP name is already present in Formula 1 with Mercedes, but the Brackley-based team’s partner, cloud and networking specialist Hewlett Packard Enterprise, is a different company to the consumer-focused HP. The two HP divisions were split into two separate entities in 2015.
Earlier this week, Ferrari announced that it will launch in Miami with a special livery that incorporates two different shades of blue, Azzurro La Plata and Azzurro Dino, into the SF-24’s design. This marks the 70th anniversary of the brand from Maranello on the American market.
