Zurich – After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, tennis superstar Roger Federer wants to financially support victims of the war of aggression.
Through his foundation, half a million US dollars will go to the War Child Holland organisation to help Ukrainian children access schooling, the 40-year-old Swiss shared on Twitter.
“My family and I are shocked by the images from Ukraine and heartbroken for the innocent people so terribly affected,” the 20-time Grand Slam winner wrote. “We stand for peace.” With his wife Mirka, Federer has four children. On the sporting front, Federer is hoping to return this summer after having another knee operation last August.
