Robert Brysik is considered the successor to prodigy Anders Vejrgang – now he is the “Young Player of the Year 2024” of the esports player foundation. At 13, he is already collecting titles in EA SPORTS FC.
FC World Champion Anders Vejrgang won his first titles at 11, and Robert Brysik, now 13, is well on his way: the eSport jewel from FOKUS triumphed in 2024 in the SK Gaming eJunior Cup, the FLVW E-astern Cup and “Bayern zockt”, among others – beating former German champions in the process. He also attracted attention in the Weekend League with 339 consecutive wins.
Around Christmas, Brysik received another special gift: the esports player foundation (epf) named him “Young Player of the Year 2024”. After open online voting and a vote by a jury of experts, the teenager left 14 other nominated talents behind. As a prize, Brysik received a monetary grant of 1500 euros for the next twelve months.
“It is an incredible honor to receive this award,” says the 13-year-old. “I would like to thank my coaches, FOKUS, my family and everyone who has supported me. This award is an incentive for me to train even harder and continue to improve.”
Jörg Adami, managing director of the esports player foundation, is full of praise for the award winner: ‘Robert has proven that he is not only an extraordinary talent, but also a role model for young players. His passion, ambition and commitment are exemplary.’
The “Young Player of the Year” award was presented by epf 2024 for the first time. Young eSports players from five different titles and disciplines were up for election: EA SPORTS FC, League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Valorant and Brawl Stars.
