FC 25: EA SPORTS unveils Ultimate Edition cover

FC 25 casts its first shadows ahead. On Monday, developer EA SPORTS unveiled the cover of the upcoming Ultimate Edition, which could hint at an interesting return

Jude Bellingham is one of the biggest stars in soccer at the moment – and is likely to remain so for the foreseeable future. After all, the Englishman in the service of Real Madrid is only 21 years old and, barring injury, should remain in the sport for a few more seasons.

Bellingham in the spotlight

The Englishman’s high profile and media presence was of course also noticed in Vancouver and obviously appealed to them when it came to designing the cover for EA SPORTS FC 25. The successor to FC 24, which is due to be released in the fall, will feature Bellingham as the cover star – at least on the Ultimate Edition. He adorns it surrounded by three former legends and Aitana Bonmati, arguably the best female footballer in the world at the moment

By legends in this case, we mean Gianluigi Buffon, Zinedine Zidane and David Beckham, who, in addition to their own prominent faces, have also contributed many of their almost endlessly accumulated silverware. Premier League, Champions League, World and European Championships – this trio has truly won it all and is well ahead of Bellingham, who has also won the Champions League and La Liga

Englishman sets record – Buffon set for return?

One record that Zidane and Co. will not be able to take away from Bellingham, however, is that of the youngest cover star in the history of EA SPORTS’ soccer simulations. A figure that emphatically underlines the standing Bellingham already has in the world of soccer in his early 20s.

The cover of the Standard Edition has not yet been released. However, it can be assumed that even the cheaper version of the latest FC edition will not be without Real Madrid’s figurehead. Or will Bonmati snatch the place away from the Brit after all?

One of the three legends, that much seems certain given the history of the FIFA and FC fronts, is unlikely to do so. And yet the inclusion of Italy’s long-serving goalkeeper could be a hint. After all, unlike Becks and Zizou, Buffon has not yet returned to the game as an icon card following the end of his career. It is possible that this will change with FC 25.
