EA SPORTS has made two new evolutions available for Football Ultimate Team (FUT) in FC 24 on Wednesday. For the upgrades to stronger cards, however, you have to pay again
For three weeks, the FUT community had been waiting for new ways to upgrade their favourite players in FC 24. EA SPORTS initially held back regarding the evolutions after the release – but has now released two additional versions. These are called “Fast Wing” and “Outside Defence Edge”. The names can also be used to directly identify the positions concerned.
With “Fast Winger”, a right winger’s overall rating can be upgraded by four points in two steps. In addition, two new PlayStyles are awarded, among the individual values, speed (+8) naturally benefits the most. “Outside defensive edge” enables an increase of the overall rating by a whole nine points. In addition, a high defensive work rate, a PlayStyle and, among other things, ten extra points each for defence and physicality can be earned.
Wing Evolutions get a price tag
No gold cards are eligible for “Outside Defensive Edge” though. The maximum overall rating is 74, so players can also improve to a maximum of 83 points. “Fast Wing” allows objects with up to 81 points – but the evolution has a catch: it cannot be completed free of charge. EA SPORTS had already done this with offensive wingers at the release of FC 24.
The first wing evolution in the new title was already the only one of the six starter variants that had to be paid for. And also the one that brought the biggest upgrade for gold objects.
The developer remains faithful to the marching order: 50,000 coins or 1,000 FC Points (to be had for real money) must be paid in order to unlock the tasks for “Fast Wing”. The fact that the two evolutions for wingers, of all things, have received a price tag can probably be explained by their high relevance in the current meta of FC 24. EA SPORTS likes to ask for money for the best content.
