A few weeks ago, BVB’s new special jersey was leaked in EA SPORTS FC 24. The club presented the shirt today, Tuesday, confirming the discovery
It was exactly 50 years ago to the day that the Westfalenstadion – now Signal-Iduna-Park – was inaugurated. FC Schalke 04 was a guest for the Revierderby in front of more than 50,000 spectators. This was the first time in two years that Borussia Dortmund had played in the 2nd Bundesliga from 1972 to 1976. Accordingly, Schalke were favored to win the match, which they did in the end with a 3:0 victory.
BVB has now played over 1,000 competitive matches in its soccer temple, including two European Cup finals and a number of matches for the German national team. Including the emotional 1:0 against Poland at the 2006 home World Cup.4
So it’s hardly surprising that Dortmund have thought of something to mark the anniversary. As the club announced in a clip on X, there will be a special jersey. Unsurprising, but also unsurprising, as the shirt was leaked weeks ago in EA SPORTS FC 24.
The jersey was reportedly found in the game data – and the discovery made the rounds on social media. It is not yet known when and how the jersey will be available in the game
Leverkusen jersey was also leaked
In fact, this is not the first time a jersey has been leaked via FC 24. In the announcement trailer for the new game, the publisher showed Bayer Leverkusen’s new home jersey, which had not yet been released at the time.
The current Bundesliga leaders took EA SPORTS’ mishap with humor. Unlike before the season, however, this time the publisher is not to blame for the BVB jersey
