At the moment, TOTY cards should be the ultimate in EA SPORTS FC 24. However, a trick in FUT Evolutions promotes bronze items to the top of the rating
The enormous rating jump is made possible by a trick in the Evolutions that allowed players to earn cards with two PlayStyles+ even before the Team of the Year (TOTY). Shortly after the release of the TOTY items, which make world stars such as Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham and Virgil van Dijk some of the highest-rated and best items in FC 24 Ultimate Team, various users have exploited the gap in the system to the limit – and are outperforming the top players with absolute nobodies.
From Zero to Hero: Bronze items compete with TOTY
The established FUT Twitter account “EAFC 24 News” uses Michel Adopo from Atalanta Bergamo as an example to demonstrate the possible upgrade. The standard version of the Frenchman is only rated 61, which makes him a bronze card. However, if you go through the right evolutions with him in the correct order, his overall rating explodes to 98 out of a maximum possible 99 points. This means that the midfielder, who can also play in central defense, easily overtakes all TOTY cards in his positions
The decisive trick is to complete certain tasks of some evolutions on the way to the top card, but not to collect the upgrades available for them. Instead, you let the evolution expire and receive an only partially improved map. This prevents your player from exceeding limits that would exclude them from further evolutions. If you trick your way through several evolutions before completing one of the development options and then pick up the last upgrade, you will also receive all previously earned upgrades that you have allowed to expire.
Nobody becomes a 99 machine
The result is almost ridiculously strong cards that can actually compete with the TOTY items in terms of value. According to “EAFC 24 News”, Adopo gets around 87 pace, 97 passing, 96 dribbling, 98 defending and 99 physicality. On paper, this would make the 24-year-old the best clearer in the game – even ahead of the TOTY item of Man City’s strategist Rodri. However, it must be mentioned that numerous other factors influence how an item behaves in the game. Work rates, sprint type or even the body type should not be underestimated. The cards developed are therefore not necessarily of equal value. But they are rated extremely highly.
According to the Twitter account of Ryan Howley from Dundee FC, a possible upgrade is even more blatant than with Adopo. You’ve never heard of the Welshman? That could change in the future, at least in the game. After all, “EAFC 24 News” is holding out the prospect of an explosion in the midfielder’s overall rating from 60 to the maximum of 99. Possibilities that are having an effect. Both Howley and Adopo are currently out of stock on the in-game market and can only rarely be bought at the maximum price.
Trader and ex-professional criticize
The extreme rating increases are not met with approval everywhere. Under a Twitter post by streamer ‘SwepixTV’, who presented an alternative Evolution Adopos, Tim Schwartmann, better known in the FIFA scene as ‘Tim Latka’, voiced his criticism. He describes his view that exploiting the gaps in the system has “nothing to do with Evos” and is “garbage” as an “unpopular opinion”. It should also be mentioned that you take a certain risk when you use the mechanics. Because of the waiting times until an evolution that has been started expires, it is unclear whether the paths shown can even be taken with Adopo, Howley & Co. After all, EA SPORTS could intervene at any time and stop the presumably unwanted combination of several partially completed evolutions before you reach your goal. Furthermore, it is unclear whether penalties could be imposed for exploiting the loophole. So act at your own risk.
