Even the Bundesliga apparently didn’t know it: Their Player of the Month for August got a POTM card for Football Ultimate Team (FUT) in FC 24 after all. Victor Boniface makes a big virtual leap.
“August’s POTM will not integrate EA SPORTS FC Ultimate Team,” the Bundesliga candidate video had announced in early September. Since then, someone at the developer or in the German football top flight seems to have changed their mind. FC 24 rewarded Leverkusen’s summer newcomer and voting winner Victor Boniface for his brilliant start to the season after all. The POTM card was released in FUT on Thursday evening.
Thanks to a double Inform jump, the virtual Boniface has received an upgrade of nine points on his Overall Rating. Physique (88) outshines all other basic values of the object, but speed (84) and shot (84) also stand out strongly. Among the individual attributes, the most outstanding are stamina (95), shooting power (94) and jumping power (93). While the attack (78) is still manageable, the final speed (89) is impressive.
In order to unlock Boniface’s POTM card, an SBC must be completed as usual. Only one team is required for the team building challenge. The average overall rating must be 83, and an object with an 85 overall rating is also required. FUTBIN estimates the total cost at the consoles to be around 9,500 coins – making Boniface an alternative for our Bundesliga starter team.
Newcomer with dream Bundesliga start
The Nigerian has played a major part in Bayer Leverkusen’s second-place finish in the Bundesliga after five matchdays. The 22-year-old has already scored six goals and provided two assists. Two of those goals and one assist came in August, which convinced the community in the voting. He also shone in his Werkself premieres in the Europa League (one goal, one assist) and in the DFB Cup (one goal).
With the new POTM item, Boniface can also live out his scoring prowess virtually. The 74 silver card that EA SPORTS has given him as a basic item, on the other hand, will hardly enjoy greater popularity among fans. Incidentally, a hot candidate for the title and card for September is likely to be another attacking breakthrough player of recent weeks: Serhou Guirassy from VfB Stuttgart, who has already scored a staggering seven goals.
