Holding the reins of a Formula 1 team in your own hands for once. In the management simulation F1 Manager 2022, this will be possible from the summer on.
Not behind the wheel of an F1 solid, but in the boss’s chair of a Formula 1 team, Frontier Developments will soon be putting you in the driver’s seat. The simulation and management specialists yesterday announced a long-term cooperation with Formula 1.
The new licensed management sim is set to release as early as summer 2022 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series XS, Xbox One and on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. It is set to be the first part of an annually renewing sports game series.
F1 drama up close
The British want to make the whole drama of the highest racing class playable. This is to be achieved through authenticity and race productions in TV broadcast quality.
Quick decisions have to be made during the races and strategy adjustments have to be realised. But since championships are not only won on the track, intuition is also of great importance off it.
As the boss of one of the ten teams in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, deep insights into the racing circus are to be made possible. In F1 Manager 2022, there shall therefore be the whole responsibility of the range of tasks.
Finding sponsors, influencing the design direction of the car, conducting tests in the wind tunnel, recruiting drivers and observing talent from F1, F2 and F3. Further developments and new technological directions also flow into the manager’s career, as does finding suitable personnel and expanding the company.
For analysis cracks, there should be rich data sheets to make decisions on developments of the car and drivers and within races.
“A great opportunity for fans!”
“The F1 Manager franchise is a great opportunity for fans to put themselves in the shoes of a team boss and experience such a career for themselves. I am confident that Frontier, with its own successful corporate history with management games, will provide fans with a fun and engaging experience,” said Ross Brawn, Managing Director of Formula 1.
With Planet Coaster, Jurassic World Evolution 1 and 2 and Planet Zoo, Frontier Developments have already proven many times that they can make management simulations both beginner-friendly and fill them with long-term motivation.
Formula 1 has been one of the fastest-growing sports brands for years and continues to open up new markets. Only a few details and a short teaser were published for the announcement. But an authentic insight into the structures behind the shiny brand seems quite possible with the experienced British developers.
