After all the excitement from the Belgian Grand Prix last weekend, Formula One fans have not had to wait very long to see whether Vettel can follow up his race performance there with another win to put further pressure on Hamilton.

The Italian GP takes place at Monza, which has hosted Grand Prix since 1950. Qualifying is on Saturday 1st September at 3 pm and the race is on Sunday 2nd September at 3.10pm.

The last time Ferrari was able to win on home soil was back in 2010 when Fernando Alonso was victorious. Ferrari’s SF71H has ensured that Vettel can more than compete with Hamilton and it looks unstoppable right now. Vettel has won 5 races with the new car this year and you can’t rule him out picking up a sixth in Italy.

Sebastian Vettel has won at Monza three times before but not whilst driving for Ferrari, so he is desperate to repeat those achievements with Ferrari now. After Vettel’s pass of Hamilton last week, it was clear to see that Ferrari is the car with the most power right now. Hamilton said after the race: “He drove past me like I wasn’t even there.”

The stands at Monza will be filled with red, as local fans cheer on Ferrari and if Vettel or Raikkonen can win here, there will be some serious celebrations happening. Italy has waited too long to see Ferrari add to their 19 wins on their home racetrack.
