F1 22: Crossplay in the course of August

F1 2022 gets crossplay support. The test phase will start this weekend, and the feature is expected to go online in August.

Two test phases of the crossplay function in F1 22 are currently planned from August 5 to 7 and from August 12 to 14 – Codemasters and Electronic Arts confirmed this. Afterwards, the feature is to go online.

After activating the function in the game lobby, hosts of the session can invite other players via the option “Invite friends”. This is also to be possible during a race by pausing the game and going to the “Invites and Requests” option.

“Crossplay brings all of our players together and allows you to show who is the best driver on all platforms,” explains. Lee Mather, F1 senior creative director at Codemasters. In addition, crossplay allows for “better matchmaking opportunities so fans can compete against rival racers with similar characteristics. “
