It is still unclear whether Jörg Schmadtke (57) will extend his expiring contract at VfL Wolfsburg. But the manager is giving the Wolves hope.
“I’m in talks with my supervisory board chairman,” Schmadtke said on “Sky” on Saturday evening before the home game against VfB Stuttgart, referring to Frank Witter.
“And if he believes that the constellation as we currently have it should still be continued and that I am less of a disruptive factor and more of a help, there is definitely a chance that I will extend for another year,” said Schmadtke, who has been in office since 2018.
Even if Schmadtke himself did not say it: it is no secret that VfL would like to keep its sporting director. So the signs are pointing to an extension.
