Almost all 13 ESM partners have included Thibaut Courtois in their Eleven of the Month for May. Only one other player also scores in double figures
Spanish champions and Champions League triumphants once again: As expected, Real Madrid has many of its players in the ESM top eleven in May. Half a dozen made the cut, so more than half of those selected are wearing the Blancos’ kit.
Leading the way is goalkeeper and CL final hero Thibaut Courtois. The Belgian scored twelve of the 13 possible votes. Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, Luka Modric, Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema complete the Real squad. With ten votes, Vinicius was the only player besides Courtois with a double-digit vote.
Kevin De Bruyne (9) and Joao Cancelo represent England champions ManCity in May, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Thiago represent CL finalists and runners-up Liverpool FC.
While Ligue 1 and once again the Bundesliga are not in the ESM top eleven, Portuguese Rafael Leao of Serie A champions AC Milan (six votes) is at least one player who earns his bread and butter in the Italian top flight.
