Elvedi is even getting closer to the derby

Is this a surprise comeback? On Tuesday, e Nico Elvedi returned to team training. Now we have to wait and see whether the important defender will even be fit for the derby against 1. FC Köln.

In the 80-minute session on Tuesday, Elvedi was able to complete large parts of the training programme with his colleagues. The Swiss was also initially involved in the game forms, but the final game on a smaller pitch took place without him. “We took Nico out at the end just to be on the safe side,” said coach Adi Hütter after the session.

So things are moving forward for Elvedi, whose progress on the pitch is fuelling hopes among Borussia fans that the centre-back will at least be able to return to the squad in Cologne. The international has not missed much. In the away match in Mainz (1:1) on 5 November, Elvedi suffered a ligament injury to the joint capsule/ankle, but already showed up on the pitch last week for the first individual sessions.

If there are no problems in the next few days, even with continued high strain, a comeback in Cologne seems quite possible. Tomorrow, Wednesday, the team will train twice in private, on Thursday and Friday (also non-public) once each.

Kramer is “slowly” getting back into it

The injured Breel Embolo and Jordan Beyer were still unable to train with their colleagues on Tuesday, but Christoph Kramer and Tony Jantschke were at least partially able to do so. Kramer, who has been absent recently due to a muscle injury, “will now slowly be able to get back into the game “, Hütter reported. Jantschke is not yet allowed to take part in any matches after fractures in his face and subsequent surgery. “With him “, said the coach, “it will still take a little while before he can fully return to the game.
