After an exciting few weeks of Premier League football, attention now moves to the EFL with Premier League teams playing in the second round this week (with exception of teams playing in Europe).
Brighton vs Southampton Odds
One of the picks of the round is the all-Premier League tie between Brighton and Southampton in a battle of the South Coast teams. Brighton Hove Albion was brought back from their high of beating Manchester United when they lost to Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday and they now have a number of key players out injured.
Team news
Brighton
Lewis Dunk, Bruno, Jose Izquierdo and Florin Andone are all missing for tonight’s clash but Chris Hughton could use the game to hand record signing Alireza Jahanbakhsh his full debut. The £17m Iranian has had to settle for a place on the bench so far but Hughton is likely to make a number of changes for the EFL match. Viktor Gyokeres and Aaron Connolly from the U23s could be brought into the team due to the absences.
Southampton
Midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is suspended after picking up a red card against Leicester at the weekend. Southampton manager Hughes is likely to give some of his squad players a run-out and bring in the likes of Steven Davis and Manolo Gabiaddini back into the team.
Brighton vs Southampton Odds

Southampton has only managed to pick up one point in the three games they have played in the Premier League this season, whilst Brighton picked up three points in their shock defeat of Manchester United.
