The team previously known as Yaco Racing is getting a new name in the ADAC GT Masters with Eastalent Racing – The name is made up of three parts
Even the ADAC was astonished when team owner Peter Reicher submitted a nomination under the name “Eastalent Racing”. The team with drivers Simon Reicher and Norbert Siedler previously competed under the well-known name “Yaco Racing”. That is now a thing of the past.
“This has nothing to do with the East or Easter, but is a combination of LEASing, RenTAL and EvENT. We got together and in the end the word came out.”
The background is that Peter Reicher owns a company with which he leases vehicles in-house. He is active in the construction industry for infrastructure such as tunnels and bridges, among other things.
The team will compete in the 2022 German GT Championship with a brand new Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II. The car arrived just before testing at Oschersleben last week.
“The test was our very first outing [with the new chassis],” said Reicher. “The car was still wired up over the weekend.” For that, things went remarkably well at the test. Final 15th place, 0.6 seconds behind the best time, was a satisfactory result for a rollout.
“I wouldn’t have thought that we were doing so well and that the car was already working so well,” says Peter Reicher. “The very day before the first test started, we loaded data into the car. It went very well for the first appearance. “
