The WTA tournament in Romania is already over for doubles specialist Laura Siegemund
Quick exit in Romania: Tennis player Laura Siegemund has missed out on the second round at the WTA tournament in Cluj-Napoca. In her opening match, the 35-year-old doubles specialist lost 4:6, 4:6 to Nuria Parrizas-Diaz from Spain, around two weeks after her second-round exit at the Australian Open.
Defending champion Tamara Korpatsch will not return to action until Tuesday – she will face Elina Araratovna Awanessyan in the first round. The Hamburg native celebrated her first WTA title in Cluj in 2023, when the 250-player tournament was still held in the fall.
