Paris – The top German doubles pair of Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies have surprisingly been eliminated in the first round at the French Open.
The tennis duo lost 4-6, 2-6 to Lloyd Glasspool of Great Britain and Harri Heliovaara of Finland in Paris. In 2019 and 2020, Krawietz and Mies had won the title at the Stade Roland Garros.
“In Paris, of course, this defeat hurts especially,” Krawietz said after the unexpected early exit. “But we just didn’t play well today and didn’t find our rhythm at any point,” said Mies.
