EA SPORTS returns to gamescom in 2024

After a long absence from gamescom, EA SPORTS is returning in 2024. And shows FC 25th

EA SPORTS has truly pulled off a surprise: the publisher and developer is returning to gamescom in Cologne in 2024. This announcement comes as a surprise, as there was no logical reason for the company to attend the trade fair.

We had already shown months ago that a stand at gamescom would not make much sense for EA SPORTS: costs, lack of new products and logistical effort spoke against it. On the plus side, the only thing we could point to at the time was the ongoing chaotic decisions at the video game company.

For gamescom 2024, however, another reason was added last weekend: For the first time, the international press was allowed to take a look at FC 25, which will be released in the fall. We can’t report anything about it yet, but this much: the company has reasons to show the game at the trade fair. There will be more on this in the coming weeks. We have summarized everything we know and can say so far in one text

UFL a factor?

EA SPORTS rediscovering its sense of community would be the wish of many. However, it remains doubtful that the giant will come to the show because of this. Too much went wrong last season and too much trust was squandered.

The planned launch of UFL this year is just as speculative, but obvious. Initial beta tests have shown that Strikerz Inc. will present a FUT clone that can keep up with FC right from the start.

According to reports, EA SPORTS’ appearance at the trade fair was not a last-minute decision, but the company’s headquarters will certainly have picked up the controller for the UFL beta with interest. EA will now want to show a strong presence in one of the markets with the highest sales
