EA SPORTS ends exclusive partnership with AC Milan

The partnership between EA SPORTS and AC Milan will not be extended. In FIFA 22 and the older offshoots the team will remain. How it stands around future versions is unclear.

The FIFA publisher and Serie A leaders will not extend their partnership, EA SPORTS announced in a brief statement. The contract will thus end on 1 July.

As far as FIFA 22 is concerned, fans of the “Rossoneri” can breathe a sigh of relief: the end of the contract will have no effect on this part and the older spin-offs.

As EA writes, the players, the stadium San Siro, the logo and the jerseys will not be removed from the current game. There is no information about how the content of the team will be continued in FIFA 23.

Series A partnership should be strengthened

While EA SPORTS has a partnership with Serie A, clubs can once again market themselves. This has already resulted in the market leader lacking licences to Juventus Torino, AS Roma and Atalanta Bergamo.

These clubs can then be found in the game with fantasy names. In future, Lazio Roma and SSC Napoli will also join this list. The end of the partnership with AC Milan threatens another licence loss from Serie A for the upcoming FIFA 23.

Anyway, the series is facing a big change. With UFL and GOALS, further competitors are waiting in the wings. In addition, the end of the cooperation with the world football association FIFA is imminent.
