Just a week after news broke that the Nigeria kit sold out in just minutes, the Super Eagles are lighting up the World Cup with more elaborate fashion statements. As they boarded their flight to Russia, the squad donned a stunning outfit design – an all white ensemble featuring green wings emblazoned across the chest. They have also included a football into the design around the collar and the squad complimented their outfits with Panama hats, with green trims.
It has certainly drawn a lot of media attention and kit manufacturers Nike have pulled a masterstroke with the designs. Even those fans who follow other nations will be rooting for Nigeria, as their kits have catapulted them into popularity.
All eyes on the Super Eagles

Traditional Nigerian clothes, Buba and Sokoto’s were chosen for the travel outfits and it is ensured that all eyes are on this Nigeria squad in Russia. Whilst other nations have worn smart and formal looking suits, or their training tracksuits to travel in, Nigeria have eclipsed them all again. John Obi Mikel, Victor Moses and the rest of their team mates look like they are having a great time and are in great spirits going into the biggest tournament in world football.
Extra points for being fashionable
Their kit has already been voted the best at the World Cup in a Sky Sports poll but Nigeria clearly wanted to bring even more to World Cup fashion. The world will be watching to see whether the team can bring this kind of vibrancy and creativity onto the pitch when they start their World Cup campaign against Croatia on 16 June. If they received extra points for being fashionable, this Nigeria squad would probably be taking the Jules Rimet trophy home this summer.
