Dortmund will be without Kobel in Munich

After Gregor Kobel recovered from his muscular problems in time, the keeper has to cope with the next setback one day before the away game in Munich. Donyell Malen is also unavailable

As first reported by Sky, BVB will also be without Kobel for the Bundesliga match at FC Bayern on Saturday. The Swiss goalkeeper, who has only just recovered from muscular problems, has contracted a gastrointestinal virus and will not be available for Dortmund.

This will be the seventh game of the current season in which Dortmund’s regular goalkeeper will not be able to play. The 26-year-old left BVB’s training ground on Friday ahead of the final training session and subsequent flight to Munich. In all likelihood, Alexander Meyer will replace Kobel in Dortmund’s goal at the Allianz Arena.

The substitute goalkeeper already came on before the international break in the 3:1 home win against Eintracht Frankfurt. Meyer is usually a strong alternative in the absence of Kobel

Malen will also be missing in Munich

In the evening, Dortmund then announced the next absentee for the match at Bayern. “Donyell Malen will not be traveling to Munich with the team. The Dutchman took a knock to his thigh in the international match on Tuesday and will therefore not be available to BVB at the weekend,” BVB said on X.

Malen’s absence hurts Borussia. The attacking player has already scored eleven times in 23 Bundesliga games. Winger Karim Adeyemi could start for him at Bayern
