BVB coach Edin Terzic has fewer new options than hoped for in the important Champions League match at Sevilla FC. Three players were missing on the plane.
While keeper Gregor Kobel was on board the plane to Andalusia for Tuesday morning’s departure after tearing his muscle fibre, three players were absent: Mats Hummels, who had already missed the weekend with a cold, Marius Wolf after his circulation problems and captain Marco Reus after his ankle ligament injury were missing.
Whether at least the Swiss goalkeeper will be able to play on Wednesday will only be decided on the spot, however, and a call-up seems unlikely. The final training session at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán is scheduled for 6pm, by which time Terzic will surely have new insights.
The hope for Reus, Hummels and Wolf is that they will be fit for Saturday’s top match against perennial champions FC Bayern.
