Despite nine Bayern players testing positive for the corona virus, the Basketball Bundesliga did not grant a request by the Munich team to postpone their home game against the Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt. This was announced by the Bavarians on Friday evening.
The match on Sunday will therefore take place as planned. The league seems to be of the opinion that the Bavarians still have enough players ready for action.
The FC Bayern Basketball will now clarify in close consultation with its medical department with which line-up the team will be able to compete until the presumed start of the game on Sunday afternoon,” the Bayern statement said.
The Munich team had informed on Wednesday about the Corona outbreak in the team, which also affects three members of the support team. The Euroleague match at Fenerbahce Istanbul scheduled for Friday had therefore been postponed.
