Rio de Janeiro – After advancing to the group stage of the Davis Cup, the German team hopes to host one of the four groups.
“If it was in Germany, then of course it would be a huge thing and a huge highlight for everyone in our team,” said team captain Michael Kohlmann in Rio de Janeiro after the 3:1 in the first round duel in Brazil.
The group stage will take place from 14 to 18 September at four venues yet to be determined. The German Tennis Federation has already announced that it is considering a bid for one of the four groups. The first two of the four groups of four will then qualify for the final round, which is scheduled for 23 to 27 November. The venue for this has also not yet been decided.
