The situation surrounding Dani Olmos’s failure to register with FC Barcelona has put various clubs on alert. However, the Spaniard’s agent has now made it clear – as has coach Hansi Flick.
The Dani Olmo situation caused quite a stir around the turn of the year. Because FC Barcelona once again failed to register the European champion with La Liga. As things stand, the former Leipzig player is not likely to play for the Catalans in the second half of the season.
Because a transfer-free departure was also on the cards, various top European clubs were put on alert. This Friday, however, the situation should “clear up” so that the Blaugrana can register both Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.
Dani Olmo’s agent Andy Bara has made it clear that Dani Olmo is not particularly keen on leaving Barcelona after just six months. In an interview with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, he said: “We are confident that Barcelona will find a solution.”
The Dani Olmo party is not even considering other options or clubs. “Barcelona is the first and last option,” Bara made clear: “It may sound strange, but I believe in President Laporta, in Deco and that they will find a solution for Dani. It’s a great club.”
Flick “not happy” about Dani-Olmo chaos
The fact that Dani Olmo’s registration has once again failed, just as it did in the summer, has also caused Hansi Flick to feel a certain dissatisfaction. “To be honest, I wasn’t happy with the situation and I don’t think the players are happy either – that’s just the way it is,” said the 59-year-old on Friday afternoon, exercising patience. ”We have to accept it, we’re professionals.”
At the same time, the Catalan head coach emphasized his “confidence in the club and everyone involved”. And Flick continued: “My job is to prepare the team for the next game. They do their job, I do mine.” Barcelona will be guests of fourth-tier club UD Barbastro in the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey on Saturday.
Bara: “We are not negotiating with any club”
A farewell Dani Olmos from Barcelona, meanwhile, is not an option for the player or his agent. They are only dealing with Barcelona. “We are not negotiating with any club,” says Bara, who explains: “He has made great efforts in his life to be at Barcelona. It has been his dream for a long time.”
Although a transfer without a transfer fee is also lucrative for the agent, ‘emotions also play a role. We have never made a career decision for the sake of money.’
Despite a better offer from FC Bayern, Bara and Dani Olmo would also have preferred the option of RB Leipzig at the time – and have no regrets about the decision afterwards.
