Rafael Nadal returns to the tour after months of injury – just in time for an important preparatory tournament at the French Open
Spanish tennis superstar Rafael Nadal is set to make his comeback after months out injured. According to the organizers of the ATP tournament starting next week in Barcelona, the winner of 22 Grand Slam tournaments will face Italian Flavio Cobolli in his opening match in the Catalan metropolis.
Nadal had to end his season prematurely last year due to hip problems, was eliminated in the quarter-finals in Brisbane at the beginning of the year and has not played a match since then

Several attempts by the 37-year-old to return to the tour failed due to a thigh injury. Most recently, the 2008 Olympic champion had to cancel his originally planned participation in the current ATP Masters in Monte Carlo because “my body won’t allow it”.
Barcelona is regarded as an important preparation tournament for the French Open (May 20 to June 9). Nadal had dominated the Grand Slam in Paris for years in the past and had already won it 14 times
The fact that the living legend is fit in time to return to the scene of his greatest triumphs is great news, not least for the organizers at Roland Garros.
