Chelsea ended the calendar year with a big victory over Stoke City. The Blues jumped to the second place of the Premier League thanks to a 5-0 victory on its own pitch. For the first time since February 4th, Ibrahim Afellay had a base place among the visitors. At the same time, under the watchful eye of Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool was 2-1 too strong for Leicester City. The most expensive defender ever sat in the gallery on Anfield and saw Mohamed Salah turning a backlog by himself: 2-1. Liverpool remains fourth in the competition. At Swansea City, Luciano Narsingh was the celebrated man with the winning goal against Watford in the final minute: 1-2. As a result, the Welsh club leaves the last place.
Chelsea – Stoke City 5-0This season Stoke collected the highest number of goals from all Premier League clubs and also went hard on Saturday. Chelsea didn’t get into trouble for his own audience for a moment and after nine minutes he already led with 2-0. Antonio Rüdiger opened the score with a header from Willian’s swinging free kick, after which Danny Drinking Water doubled the margin with a beautiful volley in the crossing from outside the penalty area. The damage was exacerbated halfway through the first half of the year by Pedro, who selected the left corner from the edge of the sixteen-metre area.
It was again the 21st goal of Chelsea’s 21st goal in Spanish production; in the big five leagues there is no team left. In the second half Stoke remained powerless on Stamford Bridge. It remained long 3-0 and that was thanks to Jack Butland, who for example had a handsome rescue in house on a bet by Pedro, but was without chance after a penalty kick by Willian in minute 73. The Brazilian himself was pushed over in the penalty area by Geoff Cameron. Shortly before that, Ibrahim Afellay had been taken away from the visitors. The final score was determined by Davide Zappacosta, who made his first Premier League goal from a distance.
Liverpool – Leicester City 2-1Van Dijk will not have been impressed by defending Liverpool at the opening hit of Jamie Vardy, as the Englishman was able to tap in after an assistance of the completely detached Riyadh Mahrez. Salah soon seemed to put his team on the same level, but the pole stood in the way of a hit by the Egyptian. With a goal of Sadio Mané rejected for offside and a shot that went in addition to Salah, the Reds were close to the equalizer twice in the first half, but Jürgen Klopp’s team only managed to find the net in the second half.

Mané found Salah with a handsome ball, after which the top scorer cut out an opponent and rounded off cools. A little over five minutes later, the attacker was also given the chance to set his team ahead, but his attempt sailed over Kasper Schmeichel’s goal. Mané then scored again from offside position, so that Liverpool and Leicester entered the final phase with a 1-1 position. Salah proved once again to be the man in shape by cleverly turning away from Harry Maguire and also piercing the 2-1 inside. Georginio Wijnaldum came into the field a few minutes before time to clear the goal maker.
Watford – Watford – Swansea City 1-2Swansea City went Tuesday with ample numbers in front of Liverpool and the bottom of the league at Liverpool, and the bottom of the league in the first match under Carlos Carvahal on Saturday afternoon, the closing party was able to grab itself nicely against an excellent running Watford. André Carrillo made the only hit on the side of the team of Daryl Janmaat and Marvin Zeegelaar after more than ten minutes of playing by shooting the rebound after an attempt by Richarlison. Bournemouth – Everton 1-1 Before the twelfth consecutive time, Davy Klaassen did not belong to the competition selection. Everton was the previous seven official duels undefeated while Bournemouth was already waiting nine matches for a victory, yet the home team was at the forefront. Ryan Fraser accomplished getting close to Joshua King’s point of view. In the second half Everton passed by via Idrissa Gueye. The Senegalese was served with a deft pass of compatriot Oumar Niasse and did not make a mistake when faced with goalkeeper Asmir Begovic. It seemed to stick to the 1-1, but in the final stage Fraser made his second afternoon.
Newcastle United – Brighton & Hove Albion 0-0Tim Krul started on the couch against his old employer, while Davy Pröpper did get a base place on the midfield. Last summer, however, Orange-international acquired from PSV, just like Brighton as a whole, had trouble on St. Petersburg. James’ Park, while Newcastle also barely managed to create danger for the purpose of Mathew Ryan. Because the goalkeeper cleverly saved half an hour for time on a header of Dwight Gayle, there was no score in the duel between the numbers twelve and sixteen of the Premier League.
Huddersfield Town – Burnley 0-0Jeff Hendrick seemed to give Burnley an early lead, but was just off the sidelines. The goal was rejected and no longer scored for rest. The visitors continued to dominate and were given good opportunities through ex-AZ’ er Jóhann Berg Gudmundsson and Steven Defour. Seven minutes after rest Scott Arfield seemed to break the ban, but his efforts were barely turned by Huddersfield’s goalkeeper Jonas Lössl. In the final stage Lössl had to intervene again, when Nahki Wells was able to hurt his old club from close up.
