By one year: Aalen extends with talents Schmidt and Heckmann

As VfR Aalen announced on Monday, the contracts with the two 19-year-old defensive talents Tim Schmidt and Eduard Heckmann have been extended. Both will also spend the coming season with the VfR.

Both have celebrated their breakthrough in the current season and have played in 12 (Schmidt) and 17 (Heckmann) games in the Regionalliga Südwest so far. Schmidt even scored two goals in his appearances. According to managing director Guiseppe Lepore, both are “talented players whose potential has not yet been exhausted”.

Schmidt was delighted with the environment at the eighth-placed club: “The club has a great mentality, not only with the team, the coaches and the support staff, but also with the fans. That is why he is “very happy that I was able to extend my contract” and is looking forward to the coming year and the following season. The same goes for Heckmann, who feels “very comfortable on the Ostalb” and is very happy to “be with VfR Aalen for another year”.

Defender Kristjan Arh Cesen will also wear the VfR jersey for another season. When the contract was extended at the end of last season, it was agreed that it would run for two years. “With him, the place on the left wing is well occupied “, said presidium spokesman Michael Weißkopf.
