Borussia Dortmund presented its new away kit for the 2024/25 season on Friday. The motto is “Borussia connects”
After the home, cup and away kits, Borussia Dortmund also unveiled its new away kit shortly before the second Bundesliga matchday. As in the previous year, it is predominantly black, but features a wide yellow stripe at chest height with the main sponsor’s logo in black. The BVB and supplier emblems stand out in yellow against the black background.
The motto “Borussia verbindet” (“Borussia connects”), under which BVB has placed its social commitment for years, is present in several places. On the front, the motto is not only visible in writing, but also in sign language hand signs and Braille and can also be felt in the neck area.
“The jersey stands for the diversity of the club ”
“The jersey stands for the diversity of the club and the constant work against racism, anti-Semitism, LGBTIQ* hostility, sexism and discrimination in order to promote an open society,” BVB wrote in a press release on Friday morning and explicitly thanked the fans “who actively supported us on this issue and who are representative of many other people who contributed to the jersey launch”.
Supplier Puma manufactures the jersey using a technology that transforms unwanted polyester into new fabric. According to Borussia, all subsequent jerseys will also be produced in this way in the future.
Like the other three kits for the 2024/25 season, the away kit will also cost a flat €90 without the flock and Bundesliga logo. It can be assumed that the Dortmund professionals will wear it for the first time in a competitive match this Saturday, when they aim for their second win in their second Bundesliga match under new head coach Nuri Sahin at SV Werder Bremen from 3.30 p.m.
