BVB cancels tickets for Bayern match

Borussia Dortmund has sold all 67,000 tickets for the match against FC Bayern – but has now cancelled them.

As in previous home games, BVB had calculated with 67,000 spectators at Signal-Iduna-Park and had already sold all tickets for the top match against FC Bayern on Saturday  in advance.

Now the club announced that “a pandemic-related reduction in capacity by the state government is to be expected within the next few days” and all tickets have therefore been cancelled. Every ticket holder will get their money back.

At the same time, this does not mean that Dortmund will necessarily play in front of empty seats. “As soon as the political decision on permissible future stadium capacity utilisation in North Rhine-Westphalia has been made and we have assured knowledge in this matter, we will inform about the new advance sale.”

For the state of Bavaria, Minister President Markus Söder had already announced ghost matches on Tuesday
