Buy and loan back: Undav moves to Premier League

Deniz Undav moves to the Premier League: Brighton & Hove Albion announced the signing of the former Meppener on Monday evening.

The burly centre-forward will continue to spend the rest of the season with Royale Union Saint Gilloise, however, before joining the southern English side in the summer to chase goals in the Premier League. At Brighton, Undav signs a contract until 2026

Performer at surprise team

At the surprise Belgian promoted side, who top the Jupiler Pro League table, the 25-year-old has been the all-important man so far this season. He has scored a whopping 18 goals and ten assists in 25 games – making him one of the most accurate strikers in Europe. Last season, with 17 goals and five assists, Undav already played a major role in the promotion of the club on the outskirts of Brussels, which – like Brighton – is owned by English gambler Tony Bloom.

In Germany, the striker, who hails from Achim near Bremen, was on the ball at SV Meppen between 2018 and 2020, scoring 23 goals (15 assists) in 69 third-division games. He was previously under contract with Eintracht Braunschweig II and TSV Havelse (85 Regionalliga appearances in total).
