Brain disease: Sweden international Olsson is being ventilated

Great concern at FC Midtjylland: midfielder Kristoffer Olsson is in hospital after collapsing. Apparently he has an acute brain condition

FC Midtjylland’s press release was intended to counteract speculation, but it inevitably left questions unanswered. As the Danish first division club announced on Tuesday, its player Kristoffer Olsson has been in Aarhus University Hospital since last Tuesday.

The 28-year-old midfielder lost consciousness at home. He was apparently suffering from an acute brain condition that could not be attributed to self-harm or external factors.

The club asks for calm

A team of medical experts is currently working under high pressure to make a diagnosis and initiate the right treatment, FCM announced, urging the public to show respect and understanding so that everyone involved can get the rest they need.

Olsson played his last competitive match on December 4 in the 5-1 win over Viborg FF. He was absent from the squad for the two league games in the new year
