Boxing legend sells edible ears

Kuriose marketing strategy: Boxing legend Mike Tyson now sells bitten ears. This has a simple background.

Mike Tyson is now marketing edibles with added cannabis extracts in the shape of ears, alluding to his infamous 1997 world heavyweight title rematch.

Tyson bit off part of his rival Evander Holyfield’s ear in that fight, after which he was qualified. The action is considered one of the most scandalous moments in boxing history.

It is little surprise, then, that the ear shape of the product released by Tyson called “Mike Bites” is damaged and thus meant to represent Holyfield’s ear.

Tyson’s business partner Fred Frenchy posted the first images via Instagram on Monday, saying, “You know we had to do this (…). “

Tyson approached Holyfield about business idea

Tyson is known for his affection for cannabis. He sold other similar products before “Mike Bites” and runs a podcast called “HotBox”, which included a guest appearance by Evander Holyfield in 2019. In it, Tyson approached his then opponent about the idea of the now-published food, and Holyfield subsequently expressed interest. To what extent he now actually has a stake in it is not known.

The relationship between the two bitter rivals seems to be back on track, as Holyfield himself admitted in the podcast conversation. In it he explains that he has forgiven Mike Tyson.

Curious: The reason he gives is that he once bit his opponent in the shoulder during a boxing match.
