Boujellab to gain match practice in Helsinki

Nassim Boujellab has found a new club. FC Schalke announced that the 22-year-old will join Finnish first division club HJK Helsinki with immediate effect.

Formally, the midfielder will be loaned on to Helsinki by FC Ingolstadt, who terminated the employment relationship with Boujellab, who was on loan from Schalke, “with immediate effect” at the end of January due to violations of “internal club and team rules and regulations”.

As S04 further announced, this loan will be continued by the Knappen after the midfielder’s contractually regulated return in the summer. Thus, the Moroccan should get enough opportunity to gain playing practice in Helsinki until the end of the year.

“Necessary personal development “

“Nassim is a young player who needs match practice for his further development. This opportunity will be offered to him in Helsinki,” said Schalke’s sporting director Rouven Schröder and added: “Nassim and we are also convinced that the step abroad will also be good for him in his necessary personal development.”

Boujellab joined Gelsenkirchen in 2015, where he progressed through all the Knappenschmiede teams until 2019. He played 30 Bundesliga games for the Schalker first team, while he made eight appearances for FC Ingolstadt in the lower division.
