The Phoenix Suns came from behind to beat the Utah Jazz 135-127 after overtime in a dramatic game. Devin Booker led his team with a season-best 47 points, while Grayson Allen forced overtime with two threes in the final seconds.
The Suns controlled large parts of the game and led comfortably 111:98 in the middle of the final period. But Utah fought back strongly. Walker Kessler (19 points, 22 rebounds) dominated the paint, while Lauri Markkanen (20 points) and Isaiah Collier (15 points, 13 assists) made important shots. A 22:5 run suddenly put the Jazz four points ahead.
When Collier hit a difficult jumper with 4.1 seconds left on the clock, Utah’s comeback seemed on track – but then came Grayson Allen. The former Jazz player drained a three with 1.2 seconds left on the clock to keep Phoenix in the game. Markkanen then made two free throws to make it 122:119 for Utah, but Phoenix got one last chance. After a timeout, Allen was set free and drained the next three to tie the game right on the buzzer.
Suns dominate overtime and break their losing streak
The Suns started with an 8-0 run in overtime and didn’t give Utah a chance. Allen, who finished with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists, scored another three-pointer and put Phoenix on the road to victory. In addition to Booker (47 points, 11 assists), Tyus Jones also impressed with 16 points and 6 assists. The Suns ended a three-game losing streak with the victory and improved their record to 26-25.
Despite the defeat, Utah once again showed that the young team has potential. Kessler cemented his role as a cornerstone of the future, and Collier shone with one of his best performances of the season. However, the Jazz remain in last place with 12-38.
