Blowout defeat against Kings: Warriors reach new low

Dennis Schröder and the Golden State Warriors have experienced another evening to forget. The world champion and his teammates were soundly beaten at home by the Sacramento Kings (99:129).

It was the sixth defeat in ten games since Schröder’s move to San Francisco. The defeat was already apparent early on, with the Warriors trailing by 25 points at half-time, and the deficit even grew to 39 points at one stage.

Schröder disappointed in front of 18,000 spectators at the Chase Center. The Braunschweig native only made one of his seven shots from the field, scoring three points and two assists. Star player Stephen Curry led his team with 26 points (8/12).

In the absence of De’Aaron Fox, the Kings’ big man Domantas Sabonis impressed, finishing with 22 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists. Malik Monk added 26 points and twelve assists.

After two consecutive wins, the Warriors have to cope with a bitter setback. With 18 wins and 17 losses, they are currently only ranked ninth in the West.

For the Sacramento Kings, on the other hand, it is already their third win in a row. At the end of December, the franchise replaced head coach Mike Brown with assistant Doug Christie.
