Real Madrid will go into the prestigious Clasico weakened. The royals will have to do without top performer Karim Benzema.
The 3:1 comeback win against PSG will probably be talked about for a long time at Real Madrid, the following 3:0 in Mallorca less so. However, Karim Benzema has scored five of the past six royal goals (he set up the sixth) – this contribution must now be compensated for.
The 34-year-old suffered a left calf injury in Mallorca and will definitely miss Sunday night’s prestigious Clasico. The French national team will then also meet on Monday without perhaps their most in-form striker.
Whether Benzema will miss further club games remains to be seen. Real’s schedule continues on 2 April with an away game at Celta Vigo – four days later Chelsea FC await in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
