Jude Bellingham has been voted La Liga player of the season in Spain. On Saturday, the 20-year-old could crown his season against his former club of all clubs
“Thank you very much for the trophy, it’s an honor to receive it. I’m sorry I couldn’t receive it in person – although not really, I’m still preparing for the Champions League final”, said the Whites’ midfielder in a video posted on social media.
The award is the logical result of an outstanding debut season for the ex-Dortmund player, who was often used very offensively by coach Carlo Ancelotti in Madrid and has 19 goals and six assists in La Liga.
Bellingham has also scored eight times in the Champions League (four goals, four assists), so the trophy for the Englishman from the Spanish champions seems only deserved. However, the award will not affect him much until Saturday, when he could crown his season – against his former club of all clubs. On Saturday, Bellingham will play against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium in his native England.
