Bayreuth lose to bottom-placed Giessen – Göttingen win in Frankfurt

In the BBL, Bayreuth suffered a surprising home defeat against bottom-placed Giessen 46ers. BG Göttingen wins in Frankfurt in the fight for the play-offs.

A major setback for medi Bayreuth in their battle for a place in the BBL play-offs. The Upper Franconians had to accept an 89-95 defeat against Giessen, who had been in last place up to that point, in the Oberfrankenhalle on Wednesday evening. The Korner team thus remains below the ominous line after eighth place with a further eleven wins and now twelve losses.

Kendale McCullum with 23 and Nuni Omot with 20 points led the guests from Central Hesse to their fifth win of the season. Giessen now has ten plus points, as do fellow contenders Würzburg and Frankfurt.

Frankfurt suffered their next defeat at home against BG Göttingen 65-73. The Skyliners did not catch much especially against Kamar Baldwin and Harald Frey (both 18 points). The Violets underpinned their play-off ambitions with their 13th win.
