Bayern wins after extra time – Alba wins chasing duel

League leaders Bayern had to go into extra time in Braunschweig, Bamberg lost the derby in Würzburg by the narrowest of margins. Champions Alba Berlin won their chasing duel at Telekom Baskets Bonn in the evening.

The defending champions won 89:77 (51:43) at the surprise team of the season on Sunday and remain in sixth place with a record of 12:5 victories. Bonn (14:6) still ranks second. The best Alba shooter was Yovel Zoosman with 18 points. The capital club demonstrated its strength in the second quarter (29:19) and led by eight points at the break in a gripping match. Despite the two Euroleague games on Wednesday and Friday, the Berliners also made the fresher impression after the change of ends and deservedly took the important victory at the play-off rivals.

Bayern have to make up for it

Würzburg end negative streak

In the Franconian derby, the hosts defeated Brose Bamberg 90:89 (44:45) thanks to a successful free throw by Cameron Hunt one second before the end. The MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg won 80:71 (34:36) against the Fraport Skyliners from Frankfurt, their fourth success in a row, and underlined their play-off ambitions. The Hessians, who are 15th in the table, have to fear for their chances of staying in the league.
