Poland, Austria, France and Canada are in demand once again. For the German national players as well as for Bouna Sarr, the international matches are ticked off. For them, it’s already back to the Bundesliga. The main focus, however, is on the professionals who are in quarantine.
The international matches of the German national players are over for this calendar year. Next week, it’s time for the final spurt in the Bundesliga preliminary round. For FC Bayern, the focus is of course on the early returnees or the professionals in quarantine.
Further tests will take place this Monday. And they will tell us when Niklas Süle (tested positive) and his contacts (according to official reports) Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting will be allowed to rejoin the team.
Lewandowski scored twice for Poland – Sabitzer once for Austria
Only Corentin Tolisso, Marc Roca, Michael Cuisance and Omar Richards from the professional team trained at Säbener Straße last week. The rest represented their respective countries. Robert Lewandowski, for example, also scored twice for Poland; Marcel Sabitzer scored for Austria; and the three Bavarian-nominated Frenchmen Kingsley Coman, Lucas Hernandez and Dayot Upamecano were each in the starting eleven. For the DFB team, Leroy Sané and Thomas Müller were involved in five of the 13 goals.
Davies must play again with Canada on Wednesday
And apart from Leon Goretzka, who was unfit for action after a kick to the neck, Bayern’s German players seem largely injury-free heading back to Munich. Lewandowski and Sabitzer have to play again with Poland and Austria on Monday, the French are called upon on Tuesday and Alphonso Davies plays again with Canada on Wednesday. Bouna Sarr, who won 2-0 against Congo with Senegal, is also through with the national team programme for this year.
