Five FC Bayern München players were last still considered unvaccinated against the Corona virus, two of them have become infected: After Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, national Joshua Kimmich also tested positive
On Wednesday evening, FC Bayern confirmed Kimmich’s infection on its website. Previously, the “Bild” had reported on it. Kimmich was one of the five players at FC Bayern who have presumably not yet been vaccinated against the corona virus. Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry are said to have taken this step in the meantime. According to Bayern, Kimmich is in domestic isolation and the international player is “doing well”.
This means that Kimmich, who has already been in quarantine, would be missing from FC Bayern for longer than initially planned. And not only next weekend against Arminia Bielefeld, but probably also a week later in the top match at Borussia Dortmund (4 December). The midfielder played his last competitive game in the 2-1 home win against Freiburg before the international break on 6 November.
Vaccination: Flick saw tendencies in Kimmich
Kimmich is also said to have considered getting vaccinated in the near future. This was reported by national coach Hansi Flick on Wednesday afternoon.
FC Bayern had already announced that Choupo-Moting had contracted the corona virus. The German champions announced that the attacker, who was already in quarantine at home, was doing well under the circumstances.
