While Mohamed Salah (29) has clearly committed himself to Liverpool FC, at least for the new season, team-mate Sadio Mané (30) is leaving everything open.
“Whether I stay or not, I will answer after the Champions League,” the attacker told Sky Sports in England about his future. He will play in the Champions League final with the Reds against Real Madrid in Paris on Saturday.
Mané, who moved to Liverpool from Southampton FC in 2016 for around 40 million euros and has won almost everything under coach Jürgen Klopp, is the subject of interest from FC Bayern, among others. He has also been linked with Paris St. Germain.
The reigning Africa Cup winner with Senegal can play in almost all positions offensively. In the past Premier League season, he scored 16 times in 34 appearances, and in the Champions League he stands at five goals in twelve games.
As with Salah, his current contract expires in the summer of 2023 and a move would hurt Klopp in both cases. He recently described Mané as a “machine” and a “fantastic world-class player”.
